Cologne City Hall

The Cologne City Hall complex is grouped, some with connected building segments, the Town Hall Square in the center of Cologne.
So there are the first formed centrally located historic town hall with its upstream Renaissance Laube, who later built the town hall tower and the last Affiliate Management tract between the to "Obenmarspforten" incipient Jewish quarter and the citizens alley on the east side of the square. Through subsequent land acquisition on the eastern side of the main building of the Town Hall complex borders on the underlying at a lower level Alter Markt.

The so-called "Spanish construction", created by City Hall and Tower, limits the current Town Hall Square on the Northwest side. It lies between the "Portal alley", the "Bürgergasse" the road "Large Budengasse" and "Theo-Burauen Square" on its north side. In the West, on the street "Unter Goldschmied", the elongated building ends back at the "Portal alley" and City Hall Square. At the southwestern corner and end point "Obenmarspforten / Unter Goldschmied" there are three prominent buildings of the city: the also historic Farina House, the House New Castle on Gülichplatz and the south adjacent to this corner of the town square Museum, the name of the Cologne Ferdinand Franz Wallraf art collector and the Cologne merchant Johann Heinrich Richartz bears.
